Book a personal visit to our cellar
It’s a special day for Canelli and for visits to our Underground Cathedrals, Unseco World Heritage Site since 2014!
For the fourth consecutive year in fact, the Canelli Wine Run has returned: the non-competitive 5 km fun run to run in a cloud of wine colors and tastes. The precious nectar will over run the participants, literally “nebulized” by the wines of our territory.
In our historical cellars furthermore, thanks to an unpublished collaboration with Attraverso Festival, during the customary guided tours there will be the chance to see some artistic interventions of music with the accordionist Walter Porro and there will be the opportunity to listen to the readings of Paolo Tibaldi.
Following is some practical information to better enjoy the guided tour.
Our Underground Cathedrals are a Unesco World Heritage Site but are most importantly a work place where our cellar masters work daily with the goal to reach perfection for our sparkling wines. The recorded data and the acceptance of the rules of behavior will enable us to accompany you through the tour of our cellars guaranteeing the greatest degree of security to you, to the people with you, to our product and to everything hereby kept, thus enabling you to relaxingly enjoy the atmosphere of this magical place. We ask you then to please complete the module found online or at the entrance before the guide.
You will be able to arrive in Piazza Gancia, park your car and continue to the discovery of Canelli, crossing Piazzetta Cavour, with its Bosca Pastry Shop, our homonym and insuperable in the delicacies it has to offer, to then continue along Via Giuliani. If you are in a group, the bus can stop in Piazza Gancia for the time necessary for you to get off and for the driver to park the bus in Piazza Unione Europea.
Our cellars are in Via GB Giuliana 23, in the very heart of the Old Town of Canelli: the informational signs will guide you there while you discover our small Old Town among the local shops and activities.
To access the cellars one must go down a 40 step staircase as for now elevators and escalators are still not present. I hope this doesn’t preclude you an experience that we deem as unique!
Inside the cellars pictures are welcomed but we kindly ask you not to take any videos of our multimedia contents and not to touch any of the bottles in production.
Once inside the cellars, we ask you to please remain with your group and not remain behind or take different directions than the ones of the guide. Because the tour includes a strong multimedia component it is necessary to follow the flow of the guide as once the multimedia is activated it has to follow its course. It is because of this that it is important to be absolutely punctual and in case of late arrivals we must unfortunately ask to wait for the next available tour.
If you arrive with a child we ask you to please always keep him/her by hand during the tour. You can leave stroller at the entrance where you will find it at the end of the tour. Dogs are welcome, as long as they are kept on a leash, they behave well and do not disturb the other visitors.
If you would like to get an idea of the timings: the tour, enriched by the interventions of the artists of Attraverso Festival, will last roughly 60 minutes and, once finished, has planned a tasting of our sparkling wine Piemonte DOC that could take a further 20 minutes.
The tour is free, as always. Seen the occasion, also the tasting will exceptionally be free but there will be no snacks.
