This conference will aim to address the many issues relating to authenticity in the classroom. But what is ‘authenticity’? It’s not always so easy to define. For example, what is ‘authentic language’, and how can we develop it? What is an ‘authentic teacher’, and is a native speaker really the best model? How can we encourage ‘authentic reading’, rather than reading word-by-word from start to finish? How authentic are coursebooks, do they truly reflect real life, and if not, how relevant are they?
Our intention is to give you plenty of food-for-thought, plus lots of ready-to-use ideas for you to take straight to your classroom!
